— Welcome,

About Us

I am a licensed mental health therapist. I have been working with individuals in the mental health and wellness industry for the last 15 years. I am a certified Adlerian psychotherapist, practicing the philosophy and psychology of Alfred Adler called Individual Psychology. I am also a masters level certified addiction professional, certified yoga instructor, and certified health coach. I received my bachelors degree from University of Colorado, and Masters of psychology from Lynn University in Boca Raton, FL. I studied holistic health at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York. I also have training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and am certified in Trauma informed CBT for children. I have made several local, and International presentations at psychology conferences discussing holistic wellness, and psychology in counseling. I am the editor for the North American Society for Adlerian Psychology, and serve on the board of the Florida Adlerian Society here in Tampa. I live in Tampa with my husband, three children, and very large dog! I believe we are all going through similar things at different times, and do not have to struggle alone.

My Philosophy

I help you to foster the courage to live a fulfilling and balanced life, while raising thriving children.

Your life isn’t determined and set based on past experiences. We live in a subjective world, and we determine the course of our lives, how we see ourselves, the world, and others. It takes a great deal of courage, and belief in yourself and others to evolve, and chose healthier patterns in order to move towards your true goals and desires.

Through a life style assessment we will collaborate to understand your core views, patterns, personality, view of self, others, and the world all of which influence your present situation. I will work with you to identify obstacles that may be creating anxiety, and fear then set realistic goals to sort out these issues.

Although we gain important insight about our current situation from the past, we can not change what has already happened. However, we can re-evaluate, and re-story our memories and experiences, and how they effect us today. With courage and belief in yourself, you have the capability to adjust your perception, and as a result your behaviors and actions to bring positive change in your life.

Additionally, as a holistic health coach, and yoga instructor, I  take holistic approach to counseling. I will help evaluate and set goals regarding nutrition, exercise, self-care and mindfulness practices. When your body is healthy, and operating well your mind follows along and vise versa.

I believe most problems are relational problems, and am a believer of the importance of involving as many family members you are comfortable including, and are willing to participate.

I approach counseling sessions with non-judgmental curiosity and excitement to get to know you, and walk along side you on this healing journey. Connecting with a neutral, supportive person, and realizing you are not alone in your struggles can be powerful and healing in itself.
